We would like to welcome you once again to our site. We went live on July 4th, 2015 and hope to be providing information and commentary to the collision industry for many years.
Our site is dedicated to the automotive collision industry and specifically Paint, Body, and Equipment Sales & Marketing.
Over the first few weeks we will be posting several items regarding body shop equipment, products, and management. New posts should be available periodically as new information or topics come to our attention.
The first topic we will discuss will be aluminum repair on the 2015 Ford F-150 truck. Ford has rolled out the new model aluminum truck with a lot of fanfare and information. We will discuss what equipment is needed to repair aluminum on the F-150, how to repair aluminum vehicles, and should you provide aluminum repair as part of your body shop offering.
Another topic that we will bring to the table, is materials management in the body shop. Every body shop manager and collision center director is responsible to ownership for materials profitability. Although the profit on materials is a small part of the collision center bottom line, it is the one area that can be controlled. Some questions we will try to answer are “What is profit on materials in a body shop?”, “How is profit on materials measured?”, “What is a good number for profit on materials?”, and “How can I improve profit on materials in my body shop?”.
We hope you will join us for these and many more topics to come.
Thank you for your time.
